A few days have passed and you find that business card in your pocket from the networking event… how do you follow on from a face to face 5 minute interaction into a relationship building?

  1. Connected with them on LinkedIn

    Add a note to remind them about you

  2. Email directly

    Use subject lines to prompt their memory. Eg. From Sarah – connection from event at the Hilton Hotel 12/3

  3. Mention when and where you met

    E.g. just touching base after we met at the Hilton event last Friday

  4. Refer to something you talked about when you met

    E.g. that their organisation is looking to expand into the Asia Pacific region

  5. Invite them to a one-on-one meeting
